Happiness Is: Winding Yarn into Balls

If you spend much time with me at fiber workshops, retreats, or simply waiting at the airport, you’re likely to see me winding handspun skeins into tidy balls of yarn. I love handling the yarn without any pressure to remember a knitting pattern or watch for dropped stitches. I just sit back and enjoy yard after yard.

While I was at Interweave filming my spinning videos several years ago, we created a quick tutorial on how I like to wind yarn—no tools necessary. Check out a story I wrote for Interweave.com for more yarn-winding tips.
